Sylvia Chase was born as Sylvia Belle Chase on February 23, 1938, in the United States. She was among the three children born to her parents. Her parents divorced early in her childhood, and she had foster parents. She worked her way through a degree in English at the University of California in Los Angeles, graduating in 1961. 

Death of Sylvia Chase

It is a matter of the fact that Sylvia is no more with us. She left this beautiful earth leaving behind her family and her career. Chase passed away on January 3, 2019, at the age of eight in Marin County, California. 

As per sources, Chase was undergoing treatment for brain cancer. She was a patient of Diabetic. She lived a long healthy life before passing away at the age of eighty. In 2013,John Hambrick, a well-known journalist, passed away in 2013 due to lung cancer. 

Failed Marriage and Love Life

During her college days, Chase married her boyfriend, Robert Rosenstone. Robert is a graduate student in journalism who became a history professor at the California Institute of Technology. After graduating from the University, The couple moved to Wisconsin. She returned to UCLA when they separated two years later, and they subsequently divorced.

The pair did not have any child from their marriage of over three years. After this heartbreak, Chase found love with Stanhope Gould. The duo met at CBS and with whom she shared an Emmy for a report on cars with exploding gasoline tanks. 

Sylvia was very much private about her personal life. If she had any child or not is still a mystery to many public in the States.

Chase started her career as a temporary secretary and receptionist and modeled on weekends at I. Magnin. She even worked as a political campaign manager. She started her journalism career in 1969 as a reporter at KNX, then a CBS radio station. 

Journalism Career

After gaining some experience, Sylvia worked for CBS News and became a correspondent in 1974. She was the writer and narrator for a new radio show, The American Woman, which replaced the radio version of the advice column Dear Abby. Chase retired in mid-2000 after leaving her work with PBS.

Sylvia has won several awards for her successful career. Sylvia won the 1983 Pinnacle Award in Television News. She also won two Emmy Awards for her 20/20 work. She also received DuPont-Columbia and Washington Press Club awards.
